Mehdi Saadian

Mehdi Saadian is a highly qualified jewellery appraiser and a proud David Wilkins Award winner, recognised for outstanding skill, dedication, and service in jewellery appraisal and valuation by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) in the UK.

Specialising in diamonds, coloured stones, and pearls, Mehdi possesses a wealth of experience and deep knowledge in gemstone quality and valuation. He offers expert services including jewellery appraisal, diamond grading, and pearls assessment.

Mehdi holds multiple prestigious qualifications, such as Graduate Gemologist (GG) from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Graduate Pearls (2021), and Certificate of Appraisal Theory from the National Association of Jewellers (2019).

Since 2021, Mehdi has been providing professional jewellery appraisal services and consultancy through Jewellery Advisory Services (JAS). Crucially, he also acts as an Expert Witness for jewellery in high-profile criminal investigations, a key specialism in the UK legal sector. Mehdi is also a sought-after lecturer on diamonds, pearls, and coloured stones.

His expertise spans contemporary jewellery valuation, diamond appraisal, coloured gemstone assessment, and cultured pearl valuation, ensuring accurate quality and value determination for insurance, probate, and division of assets purposes. He has worked on significant cases, including those recommended by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service (FIS).

As the Vice Chair of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and a full member of the Academy of Experts (TAE), Mehdi is actively involved in shaping industry standards and contributing to appraisal knowledge. He has also contributed to the ISA Resource Guide for Appraising Gems & Jewelry, a vital resource for professional appraisers.
